(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Major (Infantry) Michael Paulick (ASN: 0-23060), United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with the 15th Infantry Regiment, 3d Infantry Division, in action against enemy forces in France, on 30 January 1944. While the unit was in the area of the Vosges Mountains of France, Captain Paulick led a patrol from Company B to check out an observation point overlooking Cleurie Quarry. Captain Paulick’s outstanding leadership, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the military forces of the United States and reflect great credit upon himself, the 3d Infantry Division, and the United States Army.
