By direction of the President, under the provisions of the act of Congress approved July 9, 1918 (Bul. No. 43, W.D., 1918), Second Lieutenant (Infantry) Wilson A. Rich, United States Army, is cited for gallantry in action and a silver star may be placed upon the ribbon of the Victory Medals awarded him. Second Lieutenant (Infantry) Rich distinguished himself by gallantry in action while serving with Company F, 27th Infantry Regiment, in action at Kraovski, Siberia, 12 June 1919. When this station was attacked by a band of Bolsheviki, Lieutenant Rich, in command of a detachment of Company F, successfully repulsed the attack, killing and wounding about 20 Bolsheviki and taking three prisoners.
