The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Corporal Charles Cunningham, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 25 June 1876, while serving with Company B, 7th U.S. Cavalry, in action at Little Big Horn, Montana. Corporal Cunningham declined to leave the line when wounded in the neck during heavy fire and fought bravely all next day.
