(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Chef de Battalion Raymond Tissier, Army of France, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with the Division Artillery, 1st Motorized Infantry Division, French Army, in action against enemy forces in Southern France, from 15 to 20 August 1944. Chef de Battalion Tissier’s outstanding accomplishments, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the Armed Forces of the Allied Nations.
