(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Sergeant Aleksei Aleksandrovich Sviderenko, Red Army, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (U.S.S.R), for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy, in action against enemy forces on 14 and 15 October 1944. Sergeant Sviderenko’s outstanding accomplishments, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the Armed Forces of the Allied Nations.
