(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Lieutenant Colonel Jean Pommies, Army of France, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving as Commander of the 49th Infantry Regiment, French Army, in action against enemy forces in Germany, on 4 April 1945. Lieutenant Colonel Pommies’ outstanding accomplishments, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the Armed Forces of the Allied Nations.
