(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Service Cross to Commandant Victor Mirkin, Army of France, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving with Headquarters 50, 1st Motorized Infantry Division, French Army, in action against enemy forces during Allied operations in the vicinity of Toulon, France, during August and September 1944. Commandant Mirkin’s outstanding accomplishments, personal bravery and zealous devotion to duty exemplify the highest traditions of the Armed Forces of the Allied Nations.
