The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor to Sergeant William McBryar, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 7 March 1890, while serving with 10th U.S. Cavalry, in action in Arizona Territory. Sergeant McBryar distinguished himself for coolness, bravery and marksmanship while his troop was in pursuit of hostile Apache Indians.
