The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Special Warfare Operator First Class (SEAL) ***** *****, United States Navy, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving as an Assault Team Member while assigned to a Joint Task Force in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM from 21 to 27 January 2012. Petty Officer *****’s leadership, tactical expertise, and heroism under fire while leading his Reconnaissance Team were deciding factors in an operation that rescued civilians in a non-permissive environment. His ability to adapt to a constantly changing scenario and audacious actions in the face of a determined enemy, resulted in the successful execution of a strategic, high-risk mission. Petty Officer *****’s bold initiative, courageous actions, and ceaseless devotion to duty reflected great credit upon him and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
