The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Lieutenant Commander Louis T. O’Neill, United States Coast Guard, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Patrol Plane Commander of a PBY-5A and later a PB4Y-1 aircraft, attached to Coast Guard LORAN Construction Unit TWO HUNDRED THREE, while supporting combat and logistic operations in the Pacific Ocean Area from 5 January to 2 September 1945.
