Douglas Teeson graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, Connecticut, Class of 1965. He returned to the Academy in 1997 as the 36th Superintendent of the Academy, and served in that position until his retirement as a U.S. Coast Guard Rear Admiral in 2001.
