Steven Ratti graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, Connecticut, Class of 1978. His father is Ricardo Ratti who graduated with the Class of 1944 and retired as a Coast Guard Rear Admiral in 1976. Steven Ratti retired as a U.S. Coast Guard Rear Admiral in 2014, and he and his father are the only Coast Guard Academy graduate father and son pair to reach the rank of rear admiral in the Coast Guard.
