Donald Morrison graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, Connecticut, Class of 1931. He served from 1962 to 1964 as the 8th Assistant Commandant of the Coast Guard. He retired as a U.S. Coast Guard Vice Admiral in 1964.
