The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal to Vice Admiral Harold Conklin Moore, United States Coast Guard, for meritorious achievement of service, not involving aerial flight in connection with operations against an opposing armed force as Commanding Officer of the U.S.C.G.C. DUANE, as part of the EIGHTH Amphibious Force in the European Theater of War, during the invasion of Southern France in August 1944.
