(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Rear Admiral George Herbert Patrick Bursley, United States Coast Guard, was awarded the Coast Guard Distinguished Service Medal for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States as a member of the Interagency Task Force which drafted the legislation to establish the Department of Transportation and coordinated activities of the executive agencies in support of its enactment by the U.S. Congress in 1966. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of Rear Admiral Bursley and his dedicated contributions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Coast Guard.
