(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Ship’s Cook Third Class Allen Richard Sewell, United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry in action against the enemy while serving aboard a United States Navy Motor Torpedo (PT) Boat, in the sinking of a Japanese submarine on 24 December 1944. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
