Jensen, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Senior Medical Officer aboard the U.S.S. SOLACE (AH-5), during operations against Japanese forces in the Pacific from August 1940 to 23 December 1941.
