(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Aviation Radioman Third Class Edward A. Calhoun, United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action against the Japanese on the Island of Celebes, Netherlands East Indies, on 4 to 5 June 1945, after his patrol bomber plane had been forced down. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
