Patti, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Assistant Medical Officer aboard the U.S.S. SANTEE (CVE-29), in action against the Japanese in the Philippine Islands, from 25 to 28 October 1944.
