    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Commander Charles R. Hake, United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action as Assistant Engineer Officer aboard the U.S.S. RIGEL (AD-13), during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Territory of Hawaii, on 7 December 1941. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
