(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Commander George Reith, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Commander of a group of Tank Landing Ships (LST), during operations against the Japanese during assaults on Leyte, Lingayen Gulf and Okinawa, from August 1944 to April 1945.
