(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Chief Yeoman William M. Reynolds, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroic conduct in rescuing several men from smoke-filled compartments while serving on board the U.S.S. BUNKER HILL (CV-17), during rescue operations following attacks by Japanese planes in the vicinity of Okinawa, on 11 May 1945.
