(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Chief Boatswain’s Mate Roy C. Porsley, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroic conduct in effecting the rescue of nineteen survivors who were in the water while he was attached to the U.S.S. YTL 201, during the invasion of Southern France, on 15 August 1944.
