(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Petty Officer Third Class Bobby Fowler, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroic conduct in securing an airplane which had broken loose and blown over on the side of the flight deck of the U.S.S. HORNET (CV-12), during a typhoon in Western Pacific waters, on 5 June 1945.
