HADDO (SS-255), on the EIGHTH War Patrol of that submarine during the period 28 October 1944 to 27 December 1944, in enemy controlled waters of the Pacific War Area. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
