(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Motor Machinist’s Mate Second Class Richard Schumacher, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroic conduct in the rescue of an exhausted shipmate who was thrown into the sea after his boat collapsed near Kwajalein, on 21 October 1945.
