(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Captain Morton K. Fleming, Jr., United States Navy, was awarded a Gold Star in lieu of a Second Award of the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Commander Task Group 73.4, in operations against the Japanese in the Pacific area, from 11 September 1943 to 15 June 1945.
