Harold Gehman graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1965 and was commission in the Navy from the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps. During the Vietnam War he served as Officer-in-Charge of a Swift Boat, and later of a detachment of six Swift Boats. He served as the 29th Vice Chief of Naval Operations from September 1996 to 1997, and retires as a U.S. Navy Admiral.
