(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Ensign John T. Valdes, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Pilot of a Torpedo Plane in Composite Squadron TWO (VC-2), embarked in U.S.S. FANSHAW BAY (CV-70), over the Nansei Shoto area, from 15 to 24 May 1945.
