(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant, Junior Grade George L. Patrick, United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action against the Japanese while serving aboard the U.S.S. POMPANO (SS-181), during the FIRST and SECOND War Patrols of that Submarine in the waters of the Marshall Islands and East China Sea, from 18 December 1941 to 31 January 1942, and from 20 April 1942 to 18 June 1942. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
