(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Ensign Tommy R. Pickens, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Pilot of a Fighter Plane in Composite Squadron TWO (VC-2), embarked in U.S.S. FANSHAW BAY (CVE-70), over the Nansei Shoto area, from 23 to 30 April 1945.
