(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant, Junior Grade Ernest R. Ligon, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Pilot in Composite Squadron NINETY-EIGHT (VC-98), embarked in U.S.S. TULAGI (CVE-72), over the Ryukyu Islands, on 3 April 1945.
