(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant, Junior Grade Nolen Harrigan, Jr., United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Pilot in Air Group TWO, embarked in U.S.S. HORNET (CV-12), in the First Battle of the Philippine Sea, on 19 and 20 June 1944.
