(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant, Junior Grade David K. Butler, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Pilot in Composite Squadron NINETY-ONE (VC-91), embarked in U.S.S. MAKIN ISLAND (CVE-93), over the Ryukyu Islands area, from 26 March to 24 May 1945.
