(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Ray J. Koep, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Pilot in Composite Squadron FIVE (VC-5), embarked in U.S.S. KITKUN BAY (CVE-71), in the Battle for Leyte Gulf, on 24 and 25 October 1944.
