Jonathan Greenert graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Class of 1975. He served from 2009 to 2011 as the 36th Vice Chief of Naval Operations, and on September 23, 2011, he was appointed the 30th Chief of Naval Operations, serving in that office until September 22, 2015.
