    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Stephen L. Johnson, United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action as Torpedo Data Computer Operator aboard the U.S.S. SHAD (SS-235), during the SIXTH War Patrol of that Submarine in enemy-controlled waters from 28 September 1943 to 24 November 1943. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
