    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Sigurd A. Rishovd, United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action as Torpedo Data Computer Operator aboard the U.S.S. CABRILLA (SS-288), during the FIFTH War Patrol of that Submarine in the Pacific Ocean Area, from 3 July 1944 to 19 August 1944 in enemy controlled waters of the Sulu Sea. Lieutenant Rishovd materially assisted his Commanding Officer in attacks that sank 27,900 tons of enemy shipping. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Naval Service.
