Riley, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Pilot in Torpedo Squadron FORTY-FIVE (VT-45), embarked in U.S.S. SAN JACINTO (CVL-30), in the vicinity of Formosa, from 3 January 1945 to 5 April 1945.
