    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Commander Leland P. Robinson, United States Navy, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action as Diving Officer aboard the U.S.S. SANDLANCE (SS-381), during the FIRST War Patrol of that Submarine in enemy-controlled waters from 8 February 1944 to 23 March 1944. Lieutenant Commander Robinson contributed directly to his ship’s success in delivering aggressive attacks to sink over 28,000 tons of enemy shipping and damage an additional 6,000. His devotion to duty was in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
