(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Captain [then Commander] Harry B. Dodge, United States Navy, was awarded a Gold Star in lieu of a Second Award of the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Commanding Officer of the U.S.S. SEAL (SS-183), during the TENTH War Patrol of that Submarine in the Caroline Islands from 26 January 1944 to 1 March 1944.
