(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Waymon D. Searles, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Commanding Officer of a Liberator Bomber in Bombing Squadron ONE HUNDRED FOUR (VB-104), over the Solomon, Gilbert and Caroline Islands from 15 January 1944 to 7 March 1944.
