Odom, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Pilot and Leader of a 4-plane division in Fighting Squadron SEVEN (VF-7), embarked in U.S.S. HANCOCK (CV-19) over the Philippine Islands on 26 October 1944.
