(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant, Junior Grade Howard Frost, Jr., United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Pilot in Night Fighting Squadron SEVENTY-EIGHT (VF(N)-78), embarked in U.S.S. INTREPID (CV-11), during the Battle for Leyte Gulf on 24 October 1944.
