Brown, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Pilot in Fighting Squadron EIGHTY-ONE (VF-81), embarked in U.S.S. WASP (CV-18), over the Tokyo Bay area on 16 February 1956.
