Stockert, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Pilot of a four-plane division of fighter planes in Fighting Squadron SEVEN (VF-7), embarked in U.S.S. HANCOCK (CV-19), over the Philippine Islands on 29 October 1944.
