McEachern, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Wingman to the Division Leader in Fighting Squadron THIRTY-TWO (VF-32), embarked in U.S.S. LANGLEY over the Pacific area on 29 April 1944.
