Talbot, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit (Army Award) for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States in the Southwest Pacific area as Navy Deputy Chief of Staff, TENTH Army, joint Army-Navy-Marine operations during the Ryukyu campaign during World War II.
