(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Captain Michael John Torlinski, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States in the Legal Division, National Headquarters of Selective Service System, from 8 July 1940 to 2 September 1945. He was the first Naval Reserve Officer called for extended service in 1940.
