(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Captain Ralph Earle, United States Navy, was awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States as Commander Destroyer Squadron 45 and Commander of a Task Group during action against enemy Japanese forces in the New Ireland-Bougainville areas, from 20 October 1943 to 5 April 1944.
